What We Believe 

There is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. Within in the one being who is God there exists the Trinity, i.e. 3 co-equal and co-eternal persons, namely God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He left the glory of heaven and was born to the virgin Mary through the work of the Holy Spirit. He lived a sinless life and willingly laid down His life as a randsom for all of humanity. In dying on the cross, Jesus paid in full, the sin debt that lay between us and God. Three days later He arose from the dead, demonstrating a crushing blow to death and sin. He now resides at the right hand of the Father and in the hearts of those who have put their trust in him. One day, He'll return to earth as reigning King of all.

Man is the special creation of God, made in His own image. He created them male and female as the crowning work of His creation. Before the fall of man, Adam and Eve lived in blissful harmony with God and each other, free from suffering and death. After they disobeyed God, sin entered the world, leading to their expulsion from Eden and the onset of hardship, pain, and death. As a consequence, all humans inherit a sinful nature from Adam and Eve, alienating them from God. Thus, they require a Savior. Jesus Christ is that Savior, offering redemption and reconciliation with God through faith.

Salvation is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine. He inspired holy men of old to write the Scriptures. He enables men to understand truth and exalts Christ. He calls people to the Saviour, and effects regeneration. He cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and bestows the spiritual gifts by which they serve God through His church. He seals the believer unto the day of final redemption. His presence in the Christian is the guarantee that God will bring the believer into the fullness of the stature of Christ.

Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Saviour, the believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. It is a testimony to their faith in the final resurrection of the dead. Communion is a symbolic act of partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine, which memorializes the death of the Redeemer and anticipates His second coming.
