Fewer things are more perilous for an Afghani than that unsuspected step which can change their life in a heartbeat. In these last days, Christians are faced with similar perils that can cripple or even destroy their witness. Navigating the landscape while remaining mentally and spiritually focused on the task at hand is hard enough in good times but throw in a little intimidation or persecution... and we suddenly find each step more precarious than the previous. It requires a Courageous Faith to live out the Christian life.
In this next section of the book of Acts, we will be learning how to build our faith and live out the Christian faith in a Courageous way. While many deny the faith under trial or persecution, the Transformed Christian lives a Courageous life because of the difference the Holy Spirit is making deep within. (May 23 / 30: Ch.4)
An even greater danger lurks deep in our hearts during peaceful times: pride is the hidden land mine (June 6: Ch.5:1-16) which can cause the greatest danger to our witness. But when we stand in the face of the Accuser and proclaim the Gospel nothing can stand in the way of the Christian church and message (June 13: Ch.5:17-42).
