The Big Stuff for P.P.: "I have become completely convinced over time, that the local church is the hope of the world. In short, we must allow the Holy Spirit to direct our personal lives in such a way that we view our world through the eyes of Jesus. The Bible is our playbook from which we derive truth, doctrine and direction for our lives. The Bible makes it clear that following Christ, fellowship with God and others, and serving our world through the local church are 'non-negotiables'. What we must do to reach our world is be authentic, passionate and loving with the Gospel message. I also believe church and serving God should be fun. So do away with the starched white collars, don't take yourself too serious, do away with the hair-sprayed preacher look and laugh a little. Life is just a little too heavy and a little too short to do otherwise. I personally try to refrain from endorsing specific ministries or preachers until they are dead. It's easier that way I find. That is why my library is filled with books and writings Charles Spurgeon, John Gill and Martyn Lloyd-Jones. I do however love reading Wayne Grudem, John Piper and John MacArthur... all of these guys aforementioned have been very instrumental in my own theological development."
P.P.'s Preaching Style: "A lot today is made of 'topical messages'. I think that is okay to a point but there is nothing like going through a passage of Scripture and letting the Holy Spirit select the topic. I always want to be personable and direct; which sometimes has its edginess if you like just coming to church. So what I like to do is make the Word of God real in our personal lives and then teach people how to apply the timeless, perfect truths of the Bible to our life. There are a great deal of false doctrines and teachers out there; while I could spend my time studying, criticizing or blogging about them, I rather choose to study and proclaim the truth from the Word of God. And where that differs from other denominations or even some in my own denomination; so be it... more than anything I want to communicate truth in a logical, informed and education manner to our world today to see lives transformed."
Free Time for P.P.: "I love to call of Duty with the kids and occasionally used real guns at the LA Sportsman's club."
The Family Dog: "Maximus Decimus Meridius" Yes from the movie Gladiator - "“My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, Commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.” If you can't have a son named Maximus, you can at least have a dog named after him...
