Mission Trip to Nigeria:  Date: (Thurs.) October 29 – (Tues.) November 10        

(Federal holiday, Nov. 11 – Veteran’s Day)

Costs: $1500 (scholarships available upon request)  Church covers in-country expenses for food, travel and lodging.  You will want some spending money for sightseeing and such 

Main Tasks this Trip:  

Ø  Light construction… erecting desks and benches for school in village / bush; painting school interior and exterior 

Ø  Medical clinic… if you have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express or successfully raised a child through age 4, you are qualified for medical service 

Ø  Education… we will be attempting to establish a scholarship program with the local school in the village / bush to help send achieving students to university 

Ø  Personal Evangelism… much of the evangelism done is through story telling and personal experience

Ø  Loving People… Essentially we will be touching people’s lives and caring for their needs

 

What You Need to Do: 

1.     Pray about going… 

2.     Inform Pastor Paul or Shannon Gauss of your desire to go 

3.     Obtain a valid passport through the USPS 

4.     Begin paperwork through the church office for travel visa, medical insurance coverage 

5.     Immunization shots / records up to date.  You will need to get a yellow fever injection, in addition to typhoid, Hepatitis A & B.  Cautionary medication for malaria 

6.     Familiarize yourself with Nigerian customs with materials provided through the office and online
